Managing Time   
Implementing Organizational, Planning and Prioritizing Strategies
One 3 hour group training session for students plus a one hour group parent review and strategy meeting
$950 for up to 15 students.

GOAL: Students will learn organizational, planning and prioritizing skills that will help them manage their school and personal time more effectively. When these techniques are successfully utilized, improved grades and increased confidence will result.

WHY: Successfully accomplishing all that is required without undue stress is difficult for all people, but especially for students. This student centered and experiential intensive teaches concrete methods intended to separate each student’s individual tasks into clearly visible, understood and manageable activities. 

Topics covered:
• How to read a rubric/project instructions.
• How to wisely choose a topic for a project.
• Step by step actions for project completion.
• How to survive group projects.
• Turning anxious thoughts into stress reducing actions.
• Prioritizing school and personal tasks.
• Understanding how personal time is used.
• Learning to accurately assess time.
• How to successfully use a weekly planner that is designed specifically for students.

Study Skills   
Promoting Efficient, Effective and Productive Learning

GOAL: Students will gain the understanding of how they learn, acquire techniques necessary to optimize the effectiveness of their study time and be better equipped to retain and retrieve information.

WHY: Honest effort is not enough to promote learning.  Hard work does not necessarily equal good grades.  This student centered and experiential intensive gives students an understanding of how memory works, and time to practice a variety of memory techniques to ascertain which ones are most comfortable and productive for them.

Topics Covered:
• Assessing personal learning styles and using this self knowledge to enhance the learning process.
• Learning the basic principles of memory.
• Improving the use of class/homework time to make retaining and retrieving information easier.
• Overcoming mental blocks while taking exams.
• Effects of positive thinking.
